  • Tech Innovations in Hr – The Key to Effective People Management

By design, Human Resources is all about people. But does it mean that we should keep it away from technology? Quite the contrary. 2022 has begun and one thing we’ve learned this year is that HR tech is a huge driver of success for businesses. It is indispensable. Automation and AI is just a little section of the latest tech innovations implemented in HR on a daily basis.

Tech Innovations in Hr – The Key to Effective People Management

From hiring the best people, managing them in the most efficient way possible (especially when working remote), to providing employees with opportunities to produce their best work, technology has changed the HR industry. Companies that have stayed on top of HR technology trends have realized substantial ROI.

According to many HR experts, like William Tincup or Anna Ott, HR Tech Consultants, keeping up to date with tech is crucial:

“Tech innovation is what keeps HR relevant, so we need to be on the frontline.”

The global pandemic has made everyone face unprecedented situations and called for innovative thinking. HR professionals have always been in the midst when it comes to the handling of people. A tough job even in normal times has been rendered even harder now. The situation has become challenging, especially in the IT sector, given the fact that people are working from homes. Time utilization and improving the output of the employees are the two tough jobs that are being handled single-mindedly by HR. The situation gets even more complicated & delicate when the health and wellbeing of employees also needs to be taken care of.

However, HR engagement and introducing innovative initiatives have made the life of professionals much easier.

    Remote Teams:

With the advent of COVID, most people have already developed a habit of working from home and they’re enjoying the flexibility offered by remote work. Measures will need to be taken by companies and their HR teams to ensure better team engagement, team collaboration and potentially seek help to make for an easier transition. Companies are now using a mix of cloud computing solutions, business apps, mobile tools, unified communications, project management tools, and video conferencing software to face these challenges.

    Augmented Writing Technology:

It helps in predicting whether a job advert that a company is writing will get the intended outcome. The technology uses machine learning and predictive analytics. The software ensures that the job advert reaches the right people that fit the description fed by the recruiter. This innovation helps save an organization’s cost per application and also reduces the time per hire.

    Preselection Technology:

This helps organizations in selective hiring; a pre-employment assessment software saves the effort that used to go in manually sifting through dozens of CVs for initial selection.

    Talent Management Dashboard:

The TM Dashboard gives a comprehensive overview of the talent pool to the recruiter; this helps the recruiters to nurture talent for future.

Cloud-based Human Resource Information System (HRIS):

When companies have remote teams, the HR department might be remote too. This is where comprehensive HR platforms in the cloud — the future of resource management come in. There are already multiple all-in-one HR platforms available, including one used by Buffer, that integrate a lot of separate, core aspects of HR management, like payroll, benefits, time management, onboarding, and collaborative software.

Bringing a sense of competition and fun into recruitment and other HR functions improves collaboration, connection, and motivation.

    Gamification Techniques:

Many organizations have added gamification on their career pages which helps in enhancing talent acquisition by creating interest and engagement amongst potential candidates.

Themed puzzles and games are also used to test whether prospective applicants will fit in with the company’s culture, values and environment. Gamification tools are used to improve the learning and development of employees through knowledge sharing, networking and simulations of real life scenarios. These techniques help make employees feel connected with their team, so they are better absorbed and motivated in the workplace.

    Conclusion

Although some people tend to think that automation and similar cutting-edge HR tech trends will remove the human element from the equation, it actually won’t. If we take a closer look at these powerful capabilities, these tools offer us personalization and enable us to reach the right talent. We quickly realize they might actually be helping organizations become more human in the process by letting HR professionals focus on strategic areas and real human contact, and freeing them from repetitive tasks that can easily be performed by software.

Talking specifically about India, we can say that the market is growing. IT companies are already in the technology domain and hence are easily adopting tools faster as compared to other industries. As of now, it is easier for software companies to understand the benefits these innovations bring to the table. The market is gradually getting aware and is picking up. Within a few years, we will see a widespread acceptance across companies operating in various domains.
