Student Clubs and Associations at SOIL

SOIL ensures that students receive hands-on management experience by entrusting a large portion of managing student life to them. The MBA committee, made up of students elected in a democratic manner, is in charge of all student activities, including academics, grievances, event planning, budget administration, and student outbound trips. This committee oversees approximately 20 student-run clubs, and the association is chosen through a voting procedure at the start of the academic year. SOIL also gives immense opportunities to students at the institute who are always represented and supported. The many council positions of responsibility are President, Vice President, Treasurer, VP Student Affairs and VP External Affairs.

SOIL student life is tremendously diverse, and it extends beyond the classroom. The most enriching experiences will be those that students gain from the diversity of the SOIL community. SOIL encourages students to participate in student activities and groups in order to experience personal growth, meet new friends, share mutual interests with other students, instructors, and staff, and have some fun outside of the classroom. With more than 20 organisations and over 80 leadership roles in the Student Association, there are numerous opportunities to hone one’s leadership and organisational management skills, explore hobbies, and form lifelong friendships.

In SOIL, the PGPM program is a single batch council comprised of members from both the Flagship program and the HR programme. Students get opportunities to join and participate in different clubs & associations like PlaceCom, Marketing Club, Admission & Marketing Associations, Academic learning clubs, Entrepreneurship Club, Toastmasters, Social Impact Club, Sports Club, Consulting Clubs, Yoga & wellness and so many more.

As we finish our MBA, it is safe to state that we have seen a tremendous improvement in ourselves as students and citizens, with a determination to achieve more and overcome any hurdles through our leadership abilities, communication, negotiating, and multitasking, skills which we picked up while leading and participating in various SOIL clubs & associations. We are delighted that this self-development allows us in raising the bar of achievement with each passing day, and we hope that our goals will pave the path for future generations to shine.

SOIL has provided me with invaluable experience. The creative club worked closely with different clubs, and as time progressed, I developed the skill of being an effective collaborator, from assessing situations to getting things done creatively. Simply put, we learned the art of co-creation. While we conducted the Creative Ad Making Competition, I learned how crucial it is to have a clear aim when designing. Being open-minded is also crucial since it allows us to perceive things from a new and innovative perspective.

We drive our success from the five pillars of SOIL which are Awareness, Balance, Ethics, Compassion and Diversity. This learning and growth would not have been possible in SOIL without the club members’ unwavering support. We learned a lot in the process of planning, coordinating and executing many events successfully. If you decide to embark on this adventure, I recommend that you be prepared for an exciting and educational experience.
