A wise student is a lifelong student with a desire and an open mind to learn something new every day. Even in these challenging times, it is that ‘willingness to learn’ which has united people around the world, through digital means. With SOIL, learning fosters Inspired Leadership. We are all now connected digitally to learn, to contribute and to develop ourselves into becoming the best version of ourselves and taking charge of our life.

My experience with SOIL so far has been a great learning process. The guest sessions, lectures and webinars have almost always been really insightful. We got amazing opportunities to learn from industry leaders, founders, CEOs, CHROs, CXOs, and top leaders from different industries! They shared their life journeys and spoke about issues that matter today. Whether the topics were conceptual, contextual or about thoughtful leadership in these challenging times, I enjoyed each and every one of them, enlightened with the speakers’ immense knowledge and experience. The interactive sessions were majorly about industry updates, ongoing trends post pandemic, the changes in the workplace and how things are shaping up in the new normal where everyone is connected through digital means. We got the latest update about the higher avenues, employment and need of the industry at present “The need for upskilling and the need for thoughtful leaders”.

There were some of the very insightful guest lectures like the session on ‘Fintech’ about the transformation of the finance industry, Storytelling sessions, Sessions on Advertising by a famous ad film maker, How to be Consultant sessions and the SOIL Annual Digital Conference on “Responsible Leadership in Challenging Times” , where we interacted with exceptional business leaders on various issues and how purpose and value led transformation is important for any organization to evolve. The various panel discussions of 20+ CXO’s from top industries were really illuminating.

SOIL ensures that there is a balance between industry application and academia and the sessions and lectures by our faculty and experts on all kinds of specializations guide us all towards a holistic approach to learning.

The Self Leadership classes of our founder Mr. Anil Sachdev are really amazing, where he helps us to design our journey towards a life of meaning and purpose. The journeys of top leaders like Ms Neera Nundy and her organization ‘Dasra’ working for social entrepreneurs, Mr. Sam Pitroda, Father of India’s IT Revolution, his story for how he learnt Gandhian way of life, discipline, truth, trust and love and how his role models Gandhi ji and Einstein shaped his route throughout his life, The journey of Mr. Atul Satija, Founder and CEO, The/Nudge Foundation on how he took decisions to work on inequality and social issues India is facing driven by his consciousness to give back to the society. The journey of Mr. Motilal Oswal ji, MD and CEO, MOFSL, the learnings shared by guest speaker Lobsang Phuntsok, a Buddhist monk trained by his holiness Dalai Lama, discussions with Shri Rajmohan Gandhi ji, grandson of Mahatma Gandhi on his learnings from life. The insights on the innate curiosity and openness by Mr Nitin Nohria and various insights from the journeys of top Industry leaders like Mr. Harsh Mariwala, Ms. Anjali Bansal, Dr. Santrupt Misra and guidance by various other industry stalwarts on emerging trends and future of work. All the webinars really provided a lot of learning in terms of our overall development and I will cherish these lessons for life.

As rightly said ‘Learning never stops’ and everyday we learn something new. So with the resolute step towards becoming the best version of ourselves, I hope we will all emerge more stronger and well informed for our future endeavours and continue with our journey of learning throughout life.
