The interview is indeed the last step, the final stretch and, perhaps, the most baffling round to clear. Facing an interview at the top B-Schools can be nerve-wrecking. Do not panic. This is probably because in spite of months of preparation, you cannot predict the kind of questions you’ll have to answer in your personal interview. Most interviewers try not to make you feel uncomfortable even if you aren’t able to answer most of the questions. So, there is almost nothing to be tensed about.

Prepare Yourself: The best strategy for facing an interview is by preparing and practicing well for it. Knowing the things you have achieved, and being aware of what’s happening around the world puts you in a good state during the interview. It is definitely not possible to know everything that’s happening around world, but being prepared for it will surely help. Have general idea about politics. Be careful not to get too political- just express an opinion in a polite manner and move on. The mantra that would help you in opting for the best MBA courses in India, would be to choose your areas of interest and be thorough in that.

Stay Calm: Most of the interviewers try and test your quality of being spontaneous during the MBA interviews. This is more so true during group discussions and written ability tests. You’ll only be come up with answers instantly if your brain is at peace so staying calm and cool during the entire interview process is a must.

Know Your Strengths: You must sound ambitious, hardworking, committed, curious, and innovative, etc. In simple words, don’t just speak, try and come up with possible examples. Justify our motivation for pursuing a full time or one year MBA in India and how the MBA will help in meeting your career goals. Emphasize how this MBA would act as an important ladder to your career path.

Talk about Your Accomplishments as a Leader: Prepare several leadership examples from your past experience, be it work or your volunteering in community roles. Ideally, these examples should be action-based with results that you can easily prove. Explain it concisely, without getting too lost in the details.

Be Confident: The interviewer will try to understand in which direction your thoughts flow and why. Therefore, you need to be honest about your achievements, your projects, and your work. Know your goals and ideal well. Try not to use native language in your speech. Be fluent while you speak, keep your thoughts clear and give your best. Remember, “You never get a second chance to make a first impression.”
