    When you imagine a leader, what do you see?

    The True Meaning of Leadership

    In a corporate set-up, usually the CEO or someone else in the senior-leadership team.

    In a political set-up, someone who is boldly leading his party, or someone fighting for the rights of the people in her constituency.

    In a social set-up, someone who is tirelessly working towards bringing about a social change.

    In a cultural set-up, our neighbour aunty who is organizing the annual New Year’s Party for the residents of the colony.

    In an educational set-up, it is the school principal.

    In a student set-up, it is someone in the Student Council

    However, in the last few months, I have realized that the concept of leadership as I understood it was flawed.

    This is a world filled with ordinary people like me who do extra-ordinary things. We live our regular lives with purpose, with love, with meaning; and even the small things we do become powerful, impactful stories.

    Leadership is about leading the self, not others.

    Leadership can be about taking care of my physical and emotional well-being. It can be about focusing on my integrity, character, values and beliefs which define me. It can be about being on this journey of life & ultimately finding joy in selfless service. It can be about any of the thousand ways in which I decide to contribute to this world.

    School of Inspired Leadership, is a unique one-year transformational program, which aims to nurture leaders in the word’s true sense. They run a special course on Self Leadership which is focused on each student discovering their own leadership potential. The post graduate program in SOIL is aimed at nurturing leaders who are empowered to make a positive difference by practising responsible citizenship.
