I pursued a degree in Bachelor of Business Administration from Center for Graduate Studies, Jain College – Bangalore University, Bangalore. To further explore my passion for management education, pursuing a post graduate degree in management was always on my to-do-list. I developed a keen interest in learning effective skill sets that would eventually aid me in my career development. Having a background of family business, I was always curious to learn about business management. I always wanted to study in an institution that will offer a unique learning experience. Finally, the 2 year PGDM from SOIL Institute of Management with a curriculum that provide students with a multidisciplinary approach to the management subjects through Design Thinking and Liberal Arts inspired me. I was thrilled to get an opportunity to pursue my PGDM at SOIL.

SOIL provided me a unique platform to develop my skills and talents and be ‘Corporate Ready’. Most importantly it is a place where one’s voice is heard and opinion is valued. The Experiential Fridays are the interesting perks of being in this institute where we get the opportunity to interact with various industry leaders. The industrial visits have allowed me to use my theoretical knowledge in real-life scenarios which plays an important role in the kinaesthetic learning process and in deciding my future perspectives.

This tri-semester program curriculum has been designed in a way that anyone, let alone me, can relate to all the important nuances that are being practiced in today’s business world. The design thinking workshops conducted in the campus by the industry experts has helped me look at problems from the eye of an observer and come up with solutions that are out of the box and more human-centric in nature. The course of liberal arts and visits to a couple of NGOs as a part of the program has kept me grounded and connected me well to the society, inculcating a sense of social security in my mind. The varied clubs and committees which have been put up by the students have also created a positive learning environment on the campus and developing my confidence. The curriculum has been designed to accommodate various skill development activities that a student actually requires. This has enhanced my skill set and keeps me updated with the recent trends in the business world.

I am now almost at the end of my third semester and eagerly looking forward to my upcoming summer internships. Getting placed for my summer internship was a step-by-step journey, largely supported by the Career Management Services team of SOIL. It is an exciting time for me to learn more and make the most out of this internship by exploring my opportunities and my interest in the field of management.

As a part of my internship journey, I got the opportunity to walk into an organization dealing with organizing and tracking the financial life of families across investments, loans & taxes. INDwealth – a product of the parent entity Finzoom Investments was founded by Ashish Kashyap, a technology entrepreneur who previously founded Ibibo Group (Goibibo, redBus, PayU India) and was also Google India’s first Country Head. Having received this opportunity could not have been better since I have been offered to work from their headquarters in Gurugram, Haryana.

Situated at 205, Suncity Success Tower, Sector 65 in Gurugram, the location provides a great environment to work and to network with people from different cities and cultures through this internship. I look forward to work with such large and systematic groups to enhance my knowledge in the field of financial management. Hoping to make a meaningful contribution to the company, I aspire to grow – both personally as well as professionally.
