The SOIL Premier League, also known as the “Rahul & Gaurav Memorial Cup,” is an annual sports event organized by the SOIL Sports club. It was started in 2012 to honor two SOIL students who lost their lives in a tragic accident. The event brings together students from various batches of SOIL to participate in a range of sports activities. It is held in the winter and is known for being an exciting and energetic event.

The 10^th edition of the SOIL Premier league concluded with a thrilling final between two alumni teams – the Inspirers (2015-16) and the Illuminators (2021-22). In the end, it was the Inspirers who emerged victorious, with team members Prakhar Vijay, Prakhar Gupta, Puneet Sharma, Saurabh Chauhan, Arun Kumar, Sneh Vijay, Pradeep Singh, Mohit Chauhan, Nitin Tyagi, Vidur Kaul, Rajiv Dadhwal, and Divya Singh all playing crucial roles in the win.

The final, held at the Tau Devi Lal Stadium in Gurugram, was a fitting end to a closely contested tournament that saw nine teams, including a staff / faculty team, compete for the top prize. The credit for the successful organization of the event goes to the sports clubs of SOIL PGPM and PGDM, who worked tirelessly to ensure everything ran smoothly. Special mention must be made of the sports club of PGDM students, who for the first time were able to secure five sponsorships for the tournament.

The involvement of both alumni and current students in the league was a highlight, with many former players returning to take part in the tournament. This not only added an extra level of competitiveness to the event, but also provided an opportunity for current students to learn from and be inspired by the achievements of those who came before them.

The sports clubs of SOIL PGPM and PGDM deserve recognition for their efforts in organizing the tournament and bringing together such a talented group of players. Their hard work and dedication were instrumental in the success of the event, and we look forward to seeing what they have in store for future editions of the SOIL Premier league.

In the end, the Inspirers were deserved winners, with their team chemistry and strong individual performances helping them overcome the Illuminators in the final. Congratulations to them and all the other teams who took part in the tournament.
