How SOIL supported my career transformation during the program?

I still remember how sceptical I was before leaving the job and getting myself back to study after about 3 years in the corporate world. But, one thing that was very clear in my mind was that I needed a transformation. There was this question, “If not now, then when?”. I was never interested in a 2-year MBA program as it was always tough for me to not see any amount being credited in my account. Also, I had no plans for further studies. So, 1-year PGPM was apt for me to upgrade myself and get back to the corporate life again. Finally, when I was pretty much sure about my plan for the next 1 year, I applied for SOIL, gave my interview and test and then got the offer letter. I was not at all confused whether I should accept the offer or not. The reason was very simple, just like every student, I researched about the college, talked to alumni, confirmed about the placement stats, scholarship provided and one more aspect which I was personally looking for, was the curriculum design.

I can bet that the design curriculum which SOIL brings to the table is something that very rare colleges in India provide at this moment. I am saying this because I have been here for the last 8 months and I have experienced it all. There is nothing that you won’t get to learn here. The only thing you need is patience and your ability to absorb it all. 1 year MBA is rigorous but it has a thrill in it- exams, assignments, projects, presentation, case study discussion, pre-read, extra-curricular events, and many more things.

I can tell you, right from week 1, you will be loaded with tasks and within the very first month of joining, you will start preparing for placements. In my case, just after 5 months, I was placed in Accenture. This could not have been possible without the continuous effort of our esteemed faculty, the Placecom members and Career Management Services team who prepare all the students right from the day 1.

Another wonderful experience in SOIL has been my Global Exchange Program with Shizenkan University, where I was a part of a student exchange program. Learning from international peers and faculty was quite a different experience and my overall learning has been amazing.

We are about to start our 3rd term soon, but these 2 terms have been so enriching in terms of learning and developing myself. I have seen my transformation in terms of developing, networking and exploring many skills which I myself was not aware of. This could not have been possible without that one decision of going back to the study world. 4 more months to end this journey. Let’s see what else can I discover within me!
