She earned just $35 for it. She had no idea her simple design would become a global symbol of athleticism, speed, and movement. Today, the Nike Swoosh is recognized worldwide. It all started with creativity, not strategy or numbers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"business_text\">In business, we often think of spreadsheets, graphs, and presentations. Most of us imagine professionals crunching data and analyzing figures. The idea of mixing business with art seems strange. But what if success depended on creative thinking? What if innovation came from art and imagination, not just analysis and logic?<\/p>\n<p>This is what you experience in an MBA program offered by a leading B-school. Professors at SOIL Institute of Management asked their students to paint a mural without using calculators or data models. Instead, they used paintbrushes and blank paper. At first, it felt odd. What does painting have to do with business? But as they worked together, something clicked. This wasn\u2019t just an art activity. It was about solving problems differently.<\/p>\n<p class=\"blog_pic\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.soil.edu.in\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/mba-program-new.jpg\" alt=\"MBA Program\" title=\"MBA Program\"><\/p>\n<p>They brainstormed ideas, tried new things, and created something meaningful. The process wasn\u2019t about perfect art. It was about teamwork, creativity, collaboration and improving each other\u2019s ideas, and and how trial and error leads to better results. These skills as well as this experience can not be achieved solely by lectures.<\/p>\n<p>Creative activities like this help students develop important business skills. Businesses today don\u2019t just want experts in numbers. They want leaders who think differently. They want people who see new connections and create fresh solutions. Creativity is a key skill for solving complex problems.<\/p>\n<div class=\"quo\">\n<p class=\"tc\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.soil.edu.in\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/quote.png\" alt=\"quote\" style=\"width: 18px;\"><\/p>\n<p><em>As I worked on the mural, I saw different skills come together. Some classmates excelled in drawing and design. Others brought energy through music and storytelling. Each skill added something unique. Successful companies aren\u2019t built by one type of person. They need diverse teams with different skills. Diversity of thought leads to innovation. Creative teams bring ideas to life.<\/p>\n<p>In the past, business schools focused on numbers and strategy. These skills are still important. But they aren\u2019t enough anymore. Companies need more than spreadsheets and reports. They need leaders who combine strategy with creativity.<\/p>\n<div class=\"quo\">\n<p class=\"tc\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.soil.edu.in\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/quote.png\" alt=\"quote\" style=\"width: 18px;\"><\/p>\n<p><em>Like many, I once saw Steve Jobs as a tech genius. But his success came from merging art with technology. Jobs often said creativity shaped Apple\u2019s success. He credited a college calligraphy class with inspiring Apple\u2019s design focus. That class taught him about typography, which influenced Apple\u2019s clean, elegant design. As I sketched during our workshop, I understood what Jobs meant. Creativity isn\u2019t about making something pretty. It\u2019s about solving problems in new ways. It\u2019s about seeing possibilities others miss. In today\u2019s fast-paced world, they can\u2019t stick to old methods. They must keep innovating to stay competitive. Marketers must tell stories that connect with people. They must create memorable experiences and explore new ideas. Successful marketing combines data with creativity. This happens through collaboration between designers, engineers, and strategists. It requires a culture that values creativity.<\/p>\n<p>Even leadership needs creativity. Good leaders don\u2019t just manage resources. They inspire teams and create strong cultures. They communicate their vision through stories. They embrace change and look for new ways to grow. This workshop changed how creativity is perceived. It\u2019s not just for artists or designers. It\u2019s for anyone who wants to think differently. Creativity helps us adapt and innovate. It makes us better problem-solvers and more effective leaders.<\/p>\n<p>Businesses that embrace creativity will thrive. They\u2019ll discover new ideas and find unique solutions.
